Hippos has promised us delivery of a product for more than two months. They continue to make excuses and we still do not have our promises met. We do not recommend Hippos, although we have spent thousands of dollars at their store. We will now go elsewhere
They have everything you need, match big box prices and have knowledgeable friendly installers. They will work with any budget to get you what you want.
Worse than car salesmen. Possibly the rudest money-hungry staff I have every encountered. Went in the shop to see what products they had as I was looking for some speakers and an amp for under $3,000, which is a decent budget. Before I even got five feet in there an employee bombarded me and asked me my budget before anything. He told me I couldn't build any system at all with that budget and I'd need at least $7,000 before they can work with me, and he basically saw me to the door. This place is a snobby high end audio place that takes more pleasure in the crazy high price tag of custom audio equipment rather than the great sound. This is 2017, everyone knows you can find really nice speakers and an amp for almost any budget, especially under $3,000.
I went in to listen to some speakers, as I am someone newly interested in audio, and my experience was great. The person showing me the multiple thousand dollar setups was polite and seemed engaged when I asked him questions, and there was no pressure to buy anything. I had a great experience, and if I have money in the future to buy equipment like this, I will definitely make an effort to do so at Hippos
