This stride rite is great for kids and the staff are honest.
Cute little privately owned/operated Stride Rite store with great customer service! We purchased a pair of shoes at regular price while visiting relatives in Albany, then found that they were too small when we returned home. We could not return them at a corporate Stride Rite store so we called Junior Shoe Port. Denice, one of the managers, offered to return the shoes if we mailed them to her. We did so, but didn't want to include our credit card info in the mailing, so she called us to do the return and even mailed us the receipt. The service was refreshingly helpful! We would definitely go back when we visit.
Tonight I stopped in with my two energetic boys. The young saleswoman was all alone with a line. She didn't rush anyone, was extremely professional and when I signed in before a mom buying her baby his first pair of shoes, she politely asked me if she could take her first. She also picked up on the fact that I didn't like the shoes my 3 year old wanted so told him the shoes I wanted were the fastest shoes in the store, so he picked those. I'm only giving 4 stars because I have yet to go in there and the store having the shoes on display in my boys' sizes.
I love this store- we always find what my kids need!
I was disappointed to learn that they're not a corporate owned stride rite that doesn't take rewards that you have earned from online or other stride rites. They're great with sizing your kids feet, but the selection was limited, and I couldn't find specific shoes in any size or color for either of my kids. When I walked in, an older woman worker rolled her eyes and muffled under her breath and walked in the back as my daughter and I walked in, and then another employee came out and helped us. She was nice, but to initially see that from another employee isn't very inviting.
