Large selection, prices are okay, and the service is adequate.
This place is excellent--stocked to the rafters with wine at reduced prices. Staff have always been available to help with questions and, considering the volume of customers, the inventory is very well organized. I know that Empire was embroiled in an ongoing legal battle with New York State Liquor Authority but I can't figure out whether their practices are reasonable or unethical. I just know this place is run well.
Amazing store, great selection, including a wonderful selection of hard-to-find wines and whiskies. And some of the best prices I've seen anywhere in New York State.
Absolutely the last online store you’ll want to shop. Called to order a case of wine of a variety listed on its web site, I asked the woman taking order to please confirm that variety was available and was assured that it would be shipped. I received the case 3-days later, but with wrong variety. I called that day to request a return authorization. Although I was told the wine I ordered was no longer available, it is still listed on Empire’s web site over a week later. I was promised a return authorization, shipping label and pickup information within two days. Eight days later and nine phone calls to the store to get the authorization and still getting a “brush-off” and no final resolution regarding a return. It appears the staff has no reservation about misleading the customer and demonstrates it cares little about customer satisfaction. There are many wine merchants you can depend on, but this is not one of them. If I ever receive the information needed for a return, I have doubts whether I’d be reimbursed the $180+ cost of the wrong wine. The store is that unprofessional. Stay away! I will.
Nice place with very helpful associates that are educated on a wide variety of the products. Great selection from small individual cocktail bottles of champagne to large bottles costing a few hundred to a few thousand. The price wasn't bad either.
