Extensive salad bar and nice food in the cafe. But if you're looking for a place that actually is environmentally friendly and really tries to stock only healthy food as opposed to just wanting to appear that way, this whole foods isn't it. Many of the fridge freezers are opened, wasting lots of energy. Cutlery in the cafe is regular plastic. Not all of the products sold are actually healthy alternatives. For this area honest weight food coop is a better option.
Whoa! This the biggest whole food store I've ever been since I came into Albany. It's like a one stop shop for everything food and fruits. It's also a very clean store with good lighting. The customer search is great too.
Amazon took over, and it seems to be a rotating discount on certain items in the store. Even store employees do not know the full details of this yet, that is what i have noticed though. Some organic apples went from $3.50/lb to $1.99/lb.
One of the better grocery stores in this area. If you like quality food, their produce is great. Meats and fish are top notch. Some things are more expensive, but you have to be selective and watch the prices as some things are simply not worth it. Like $5/lb for organic bell peppers. Thats outrageous.
A wonderful addition to the capital region. However, it continues to sell baked goods with PALM OIL which has been implicated in all sorts of bad things including deforestation, loss of habitat for endangered species not to mention it's bad, very bad for one's nutrition. In fairness, PALM OIL is ubiquitous across the land because it's cheap and abundant.
I didn't shop the store much, I headed straight to the prepared foods Dept. I was looking for dinner. I found a large salad bar with many options and a variety of hot foods. I tried to order from the case, but was unable to get the associates attention. She was too busy having a personal conversation with another customer. The gentleman at the sandwich counter was friendly and informative, as was the cashier.
