i've been f***in with Marie for years from when she was in the barbershop to owning her own shop, I've never had a issue with her playing around in my Dreads. when you develop a rapport with her she's willing to help in anyway (pricing, last minute appointments, etc) I've seen some of her other work as i'm getting my hair done and her employees arent bad either, I just prefer Marie.
As for the quality of the work, there is much spacing along the front (from where she was rushing to finish), and the hair on the left side of my head is definitely two inches longer than the right. Overall, the hair was about 4-5 inches longer than I wanted, and so I'll need a friend to cut a good portion of it for me.
Price: Reasonable compared to the surrounding ones in Albany. However, not exactly a "steal".
Quality: Sub-Par to Fair
Would I recommend there to anyone else? Honestly, Albany doesn't seem to have many good stylists, and she wasn't the absolute WORST I've been to, so if you don't have any time constraints, and want an "average" hairstyle, then I guess you can go there. However, I won't be going back there anytime soon.
Tightness of Braids: Not very tight.
I went in today to get Senegalese twists. I gave her three requirements: the braids had to be medium length, not to make the braids too tight, and to finish having everything ready by 4pm so that I could be ready for work. I asked the hairstylists at least twice if they would have enough time for me, and they all agreed that they would have plenty. Well, the braiding was not very tight, and the braid size was a little larger than expected, but nothing to really complain about. Time was the real issue. They left me at least twice to do other people's hair, and when I complained that they may not finish my hair by 4pm, they started to complain that I was too "demanding". By 4pm, the hair was still not complete. When I informed the hair stylist, she recommended that I "call out" of work. Then she said that she would drop me off by my workplace if I stayed and allowed them to finish the hair. So I stayed until 4:45pm until the hair was finished, she received my money, and then denied that she ever offered to drop me off at my workplace.
Time: Too much time was taken. Not quick at all
